Antique B&W Photograph- Bummer, Mascot For The Oregon 2nd Volunteer Infantry Regiment During The Philippine-American War, Sitting On American Flag, Military Papers on The Wall In Background
Bummer, a mastiff dog, was buried with honors in Pendleton Oregon.
Photo is mounted on cardboard, in a manner similar to a Cabinet Card.  The mount measures approximately 7"x8.75" and photo is approximately 5"x7".
Based on the Military Papers on wall the photo appears to be from approximately 1899. Bummer died in 1904 and this photo was used in his obituary in the Morning Oregonian and East Oregonian Newspapers.
Photograph was found in a collection of East Oregonian Newspaper photos.
