    Description

Here is a nice, clean photograph of a young soldier from Company F, 5th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry taken about 1898.  He wears the keystone badge on his campaign hat with 5 and F denoting his unit.  The photography studio is stamped Indiana, Pennsylvania and is consistent with Indiana County, PA where company F was recruited.  No name on the soldier.  His cotton campaign uniform does have a marksmanship badge pinned to the front.  He wears Corporal chevrons and has a non-military silver pin on cravat.  Photo is clear and crisp, the one corner of mat is chipped, some wear as shown.
