    Description

    Antique Engraved Presentation Sword C. Rickards Spanish American War Era
    Presented to Lieut th C. Rickards by RD Leggat.
    Lieut. Rickards fought in the Spanish America War and then WW1, and eventually became Major General Rickards.  He became the first National Guard officer to be appointed Chief, Militia Bureau (see the last picture of some research material, included).
    The sword is approx. 38 inches long, and made by B. Pascuale & Sons of San Francisco.
