Sebring porcelain co. collector plate U.S.S Maine Spanish American WAR-
USS Maine was a United States Navy ship that sank in Havana Harbor,cuba in February 1898, contributing to the outbreak of the Spanish–American War in April. American newspapers, engaging in yellow journalism to boost circulation, claimed that the Spanish were responsible for the ship's destruction.
The USS MAINE was one of the first United States battleships to be constructed. The vessel's destruction in the Cuba Harbor of Havana was a catalyst in bringing war between the United States and Spain. The loss of the ship was tremendous shock to the United States since it represented virtually the state of the art of naval shipbuilding in the United States, only recently eclipsed by newer vessels. "Remember the Maine" became the battlelecry of the United States Military Forces in 1898.

THE SEBRING PORCELAIN CO. EAST LIVERPOOL, THEN SEBRING OHIO POTTERY MANUFACTURER FOUNDED IN 1887 IN EAST LIVERPOOL BY FRANK SEBRING. RAN BY 6 SEBRING BROS. AND 2 SISTERS. THEY MOVED TO SEBRING , AT CALIFORNIA AVE. AND 15th ST. between 1898 and 1900. managed by frank Sebring until late 1920's or early 1930's.
condition: nice Antique collector plate- no chips or cracks, some discoloration and crazing from age. see pics.
