Antique Porcelain Plate USS Maine Battleship Spanish American War 1889-97 Marked
A very nice antique plate / platter manufactured by Sebring Porcelain in Ohio as a souvenir commemorating the sinking of the U.S.S. Maine Battleship. The sinking of this state of the art ship was believed to be the spark that started the Spanish American War that lasted from 1889 - 1897.
The plate measures 11 inches in diameter.
Condition is quite good for its age. There are no chips or cracks. The colors are still vibrant and the gold accents are barely worn. The plate does have crazing on the back and front.
