    Description

This is a large, round, heavy silverplated platter, approx. 14-1/4" diameter, that I don't know anything about. Looks like the old Railroad or possibly Hotel ware but I don't even know in what order to read the 3 entwined monogram letters. The letters appear to be L, C, and M but the possible combinations are quite a few. If it is railroad the last letter might be L for line. Fancy etching or engraving of the logo. Found a small manufacturers mark on the bottom that looks like S. Sterns & Co. New York. Don't know if that will aid anyone in identifying who this platter was for. Looks to be from the early 1900's era. Looks like the under metal is most likely copper based on a little area where it looks like maybe something acidic ate through the plating revealing a copper colored area. Looks like it has had typical use for platter of this age and type. Quite a few surface scuffs and scratches, especially around the first area up from the flat bottom and the back side has quite a bit of usage marking, but overall it still displays nicely.

    No Reserve
    Method of Payment: Paypal
Shipping (for continental U.S):$ 12.00 to lower 48 states only. Please note that shipments to Alaska, Hawaii or any of the U.S. Territories will cost more so if you live in one of those locations, please do not pay until you have received an adjusted invoice. - Buyer pays all shipping costs plus any state taxes as per the new laws regarding Ebay sales.
NOTICE REGARDING NO INTERNATIONAL SALES. Sorry to say that after all my years on Ebay, I have come to the place of no longer offering any international sales. I was scammed by an international buyer using a drop ship service and was given a negative feedback as well for not going along with the scam. It just isn't worth the hassle and headaches to me any more. If you don't have a US shipping address, I will not ship. I still will ship to US addresses that are drop shipping sites but with this condition. I pay the postage and track the item to mail to the US site and address and once the tracking states that it has arrived at that location, all my responsibility has ended. The cost of shipping from the drop ship agent to its final destination is between the buyer and the agent. I can't track it after it leaves the drop shipping site and anything that might happen to it after that point is between the buyer and the drop ship service they used. If it gets lost or arrives damaged or broken, it is no longer any of my responsibility.
ATTENTION: PLEASE READ. Some last important instructions. -- Please do not request that we stop an auction or remove an item from an auction once it has started. The only reason I will ever stop an auction early is if I feel it is necessary for reasons such as if I made a serious mistake in the listing, or during the course of auction lost or damaged the item, etc. I do not stop auctions early at bidders request for the purpose of selling the item before the end of auction. It is against Ebay policy, plus not fair to other potential bidders, and I will not consider request to sell an item early for any reason. I also will not switch to a Buy it Now option on an item if it is not listed with that as an option, so please do not ask me if I would consider doing so. I am very happy to email for purpose of answering questions about the item for sale and giving more details if necessary, but I will very likely NOT reply to any email requests to do any of the above mentioned requests. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Thank you for reading and agreeing to all the terms of Ebay auctions and feel free to email me if you still have any questions about the item or terms and conditions. Thank you for looking at this item and we look forward to being of service to you.
