    Description

This listing is for a HIGHLY unusual silverplate piece with an ornate top handle.  A presumably Victorian Era serving dish, this heavier antique features a family crest on one side of the lid, and a seated squirrel that is eating an acorn on the other.  The divided family crest features crossed swords with four fleur de lis to the left, and a raised palm to the right.  It also possesses a delicate embossed rim on the both the lower portion and lid.  This French silverplate serving dish was likely separately engraved for its original owners, and is just beautiful!  It measures approximately 12" W by 8" H.  Very good to excellent, preowned condition with some scratches to the interior and exterior.  Minimal, sparse silver losses (nothing too noticeable).  No other maker's hallmarks.  It could benefit from further polishing.  I am also selling several other high end antique and vintage silverplate pieces.  I offer discounted shipping and prices for multiple purchases.  Please contact me with any questions.
