Art Nouveau Jeweled Dresser Box, Signed, Arts & Crafts

Description

This interesting antique box has a lot going for it: It is hand made out of hard wood overlaid with repousse copper. The copper overlay has may different kinds of jewels incorporated in the design. The wood box has curved wood to the top and sides, giving the box an extra Art Nouveau feel. The top overlay has two birds (one jeweled eye missing) with two larger stones set in. The front and back have a scroll and leaf design with a larger green stone set in and smaller orange stones. The sides have flowers and red stones set in. There are two small stones missing, one on the front and one on the back. The front is signed "Gaby" as shown. The inside has a green velvet bottom. Condition is good, there is a repair to one of the back legs.
Measurements are: 7 1/4" by 5 1/4" and 3 3/4" tall.
