Cavalry Sergeant - Model 1902 Chevron - Original

Description

This original Model 1902 Cavalry Sergeant chevron is in excellent, unissued condition.
It has three yellow felt stripes on white cotton twill material.
The stitching is tight and strong and there are no tears, holes or moth damage.  It has some light staining as it has not been cleaned.
It measures approximately 3½ inches across.
Chevrons with the stripes in branch colors were only made for two years, as it was found that the colors did not hold up well to washing, and in 1904, stripes were switched to olive drab for all Army branches.
