M1895 Indiana National Guard Spanish American War Visor Hat or Cap Bullion Eagle

Available is a beautiful Model 1895 Navy Blue or Black Officer's Cap or Hat that would have been worn during the Spanish American War era.
The hat has a wool top featuring four grommets (two on each side) and a mohair band around the base.  It has a leather visor and a beautiful bullion gold officer's cap eagle directly embroidered into the front of the cap.  While the original chinstrap is missing, the two gilt Indiana National Guard side buttons are present.  The hat has its original leather sweatband with all the stitching present.  The inside silk lining is embossed in gold and reads, "Indiana National/Guard" with embellishments.  The original red and white size 7 3/8 sticker is still present on the underside of the visor.   While I didn't see a name in the hat, I'm not sure there isn’t one as I didn't want to fold the lining completely back.
The hat is in excellent condition given its age showing some light soiling.  As I mentioned before, the chinstrap is missing.  The visor itself shows some age (as normal), but the stitching is all in place.  There is only one tiny nip I can see to the top of the hat that is about the size of a pinhead.  The multi-colored bullion eagle is in great shape.  The silk lining and leather sweatband couldn’t be in better condition.   Please be sure to check out the large photos I have posted and judge condition for yourself.
