Named New York National Gaurd Marksman Medal. Medal is made by Tiffany & Co. for the New York national guard. It has 2 too suspension bars one for 3 years qualification as a sharpshooter and the other for 1 qualification as a marksman. The recipient had drilled a small hole in the bottom of the medal and added a chain with a small button attached to it. The button has a UCC logo and based On quick research I believe it to be for an old symbol for the Utica Citizens Corps which is one of the oldest military organizations in the country having been formed in 1837. The reverse side of the medal has been script engraved “Hugh White; Utica NY”. I have not done much research on this medal but I did do a quick google search by typing in “Hugh white Utica ny national guard Spanish american war”. While I did not get a straight hit The information it did pull up was all over very important regiments and groups from that era so someone needs to do some more digging but I believe this Medal is to someone who served in some very amazing action. That said I cannot guarantee that as I havn’t really researched the medal and soldier fully. Awesome medal! Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS First Class.
