Description
Relisting as I've learned new info on the recipient. My thanks to EB user roylowe1 for this infoQueen's Sudan Medal, Rifle Brigade. For sale is a beautiful example of the Queen's Sudan medal to a great regiment. The medal is correctly named to Private E. Carlin, 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade. The rifle brigade was hotly engaged during the Mahdist War, most famously at the climactic Battle of Omdurman. Great for any Victorian collection. Extra interestingly Private Carlin also served in the Defense of Ladysmith and was awarded a QSA with five claps. A truly unique medal to a hard fighting soldier of the Empire.
