I PURCHASED A BATCH OF THESE INSIGNIAS RECENTLY AT A SHOW AND I AM OFFERING EACH PAIR FOR .50
    THEY ARE ORIGINAL TO 1901!
I HAVE QUITE A FEW PAIRS. POSTAGE WILL BE THE SAME AT .95  IF YOU BUY ONE PAIR OR SEVERAL.
A PAIR OF US ARMY MALTESE CROSS MEDICAL ENLISTED MAN COLLAR INSIGNIA FOR THE WARD DUTY UNIFORM COLLAR. THIS WAS A WHITE UNIFORM.
MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS TYPE OF INSIGNIA WAS ADOPTED BY THE US ARMY IN 1901 AND WERE MADE BY THE HORSTMANN COMPANY. IN 1902 THE INSIGNIA BECAME OBSOLETE AS THE ARMY ADOPTED THE CADUCEUS FOR ALL MEDICAL PERSONNEL
THE EXCELLENT REFERENCE BOOK BY LTC EMERSON TITLED "ENCYCLOPEDIA OF US ARMY INSIGNIA AND UNIFORM" ON PAGE 201 FIGURE 11-159 SHOWS THIS INSIGNIA.
THEY HAVE  FUNCTIONAL PINBACK SOMETIMES A LITTLE BENT.   THE INSIGNIAS ARE GENERALLY IN EXCELLENT CONDITION SHOWING NO WEAR.
    MEASURE ABOUT 7/8 INCH WIDE.

The items we sell are usually for static display and not to be used in the field today. We do not ever end auctions early. We ask that payment for a store or an auction purchase  be made within 10 days of the transaction. After that we reserve the right to relist the item. We normally post feedback after we have received feedback from the buyer so that we know the item was received and the buyer is pleased with the transaction.
    Shipping and handling:
The United States Postal Service is our shipper of choice. We will combined shipping cost for multiple purchases. We are in the Antique Militaria business and do not make money from shipping. We merely try to cover some of our basic costs.
International buyers, please note that all purchases are fully and correctly disclosed on Custom forms for the invoice amount. Be aware that to obtain insurance for an International package, which we encourage you to purchase, the package must be sent via Priority Mail which is much more expensive than First Class Mail.
