    Description

    Rare original National Guard New York 100% perfect attendance medal. New York awarded a lot of elaborate gold badges in this era, but most did not survive the various melt-downs over the years for their bullion value. Crossed rifles with fixed bayonets, Blanket roll and backpack with “37” suspended from the rifle with links. Star with “100 PER CENT ATTENDANCE N.G.N.Y.” Reverse is engraved “’97”. Made of thin sheet gold. Not marked to maker or content but tests as 10k. Measures approximately 1 9/16” across at the suspension. Weighs 4.7 grams on a jeweler’s scale.
