This is a Great, Rare, Early 1899 8th/108th New York Infantry military document
. This wonderful Old piece has a Great, Early look, on "Eighth Regiment Infantry - New York Volunteers" letterhead, is regarding the Discharge of 8th & 108th soldiers, is Hand-Signed by General Charles Francis Roe & a General Smith, measures approx. 8 1/2" x 15" open,
is an Original, Vintage piece, from the Spanish-American War era, and Rare to Find.
Washington Greys
: The 8th New York Infantry, also known as the "Washington Greys", was stationed out of New York City and served in the Civil War and Spanish-American War. During WWI, they became the 8th Coast Defense Command and protected NYC's harbors, as part of the US Army Coastal Artillery Corps.
This appears to be in Very Good, Solid condition.
