First, let me say that if you screw these tracks either too loose to the structure, or worse too tight, it is EXTREMELY difficult to get the cap to snap into place. I was only able to complete about half of my screened patio project with this product.There should be A LOT MORE EMPHASIS on telling you that your track needs to be about 1/4 of an inch away from any neighboring framing. If your framing is in a corner, and the inside edge of this track is touching your corner, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get the top trim covers to snap into place. Also, if your track is too loose, your attempts to hammer in the top trim will just bounce off. If your track is screwed in at all too tight, it will convex the whole strip making the channel for the top trim IMPOSSIBLE to engage the channel. If you are cutting the tracks OR the top trim caps with a scissors-style cutter, it will crush the tracks of the base, and/or crush the grip ribs on the trim cap, making it IMPOSSIBLE to install the cap.I have been a DIY contractor for 35 years; I've framed houses, added decks/steps/spas/gazebos, and I have good tools. I eventually gave up on using the trim caps for about half of my screened porch project and returned them to the store. I just simply could not get the trim caps to engage the tracks. I had to replace numerous tracks because of their crushed channels, even though I was using a rubber mallet, centered the top cap before attempting to tap into place, Even gently tapping on the trim caps can CRUSH the channels, at which point it wont matter how gentle or hard you pound, it will never seat properly and just flap around.I eventually went out and simply purchased 1 3/4" lattice MDF trim strips to screw on top of the remaining screen tight tracks, and although it doesn't look horrible, it bothers me that all of the trim doesn't match itself.IF YOU ARE NOT AN EXPERIENCED FRAMING/TRIM PRO, that doesn't understand how to feel the exact torque your screws are engaging on the base tracks, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO YOU. My frustration level during my project actually had my family members worried for my mental well being, they could tell it was THAT difficult.

The strip did not match up with the existing strip....

The strip did not match up with the existing strip. Not only would I have had to trim the strip, but the screw holes did not match up. I would have had to take the door down to drill new holes. Replacing the sweep did not warrant the extra work.
