    Description

    The U.S. MONITOR ''MONTEREY'' was off the coast of MANILA in 1898 ,and when she arrived in the harbor the town gave up. She also fought in the Philippines bombing a gun emplacement in Sufic Bay. The great part of this photo is note the two dogs in the picture on board the ship.
