Spanish American War Era US Army Pattern 1896 Leather Revolver Cartridge Box - Rock Island Arsenal 1904 w/Wooden Insert - Nice Condition
Up for auction is an Original Spanish American War Era US Army Pattern 1896 Leather Revolver Cartridge Box.  The box has the US embossed on the flap and is marked Rock Island Arsenal 1904 H.E.K. inspector initals on the rear.  The box is used, please seee photo's for Condition  The leather is still soft and supple.  There is some cracking around the stud on the bottom.  One of the belt loops has a repaired cut.  See photos. This box does have the wooden insert for the cartridges.  These are often missing on examples of this cartridge box.  See photo's for condition.
This box is fitted for a drilled wooden block used to store 12 spare rounds of .38 caliber ammunition.
