Spanish American War Era US Army Pattern 1896 Leather Revolver Cartridge Box - Rock Island Arsenal 1906 w/Wooden Insert - Unit Marked - Excellent Condition
Up for auction is an Original Spanish American War Era US Army Pattern 1896 Leather Revolver Cartridge Box.  The box has the US embossed on the flap and is marked Rock Island Arsenal 1906 H.E.K. inspector initals on the rear.  Unit marked on the lid.  The box is in Excellent Condition  The leather is still soft and supple.  NO cracking or crazing. This box has the wooden insert for the cartridges.  These are often missing on examples of this cartridge box.  See photo's for condition.
This box is fitted with a drilled wooden block used to store 12 spare rounds of .38 caliber ammunition.
