Spanish American War Era US Army Pattern 1896 Leather Revolver Cartridge Box - Rock Island Arsenal 1907 Modified to add the M1910 Wire Belt Hanger - Excellent Condition
Up for auction is an Original Spanish American War Era US Army Pattern 1896 Leather Revolver Cartridge Box.  The box has the US embossed on the flap and is marked Rock Island Arsenal 1907 H.E.K. inspector initals on the rear.  The box is in Excellent Condition  The leather is still soft and supple.  NO cracking or crazing. This box is in Excellent Condition.  See photo's for condition.
This is one of the RARE Modified Boxes that has the leather belt loops removed and added brass grommets on the rear to accomodate the new M1910 Wire Loop Belt Hanger.  These are seldom encountered and are quite RARE.
This box is fitted with a drilled wooden block used to store 12 spare rounds of .38 caliber ammunition.
