Spanish American War Era US Army Cavalry Mills Wooven Cartridge Belt w/1887 Panama National Guard Plate - Single Loop 45rd for the US 1884 Trapdoor Rifle .45-70 Gov. Caliber - Nice Condition
Up for auction is an Original Spanish American War Era US Army Cavalry Mills Single Row 45 Rd Woven Cartridge Belt.  The belt has a Pattern 1887 Panama National Guard Plate (buckle) with Anson Mills patent dates.  The belt has 45 cartridge loops for the .45-70 Gov. cartridge.  The belt is used, see photo's for Condition, no rip or tears.  Minor fraying on the loops.
The US Government set up an National Guard Unit in Panama in order to provide security during the construction of the Panama Canal.  US Military Gear was used to arm this newly formed Guard Unit.  This buckle is extremely RARE.
