Spanish-American War Era US M1892 Krag Rifle Bayonet and 2nd Pattern Scabbard - Dated 1908 - Very Nice Condition
Up for sale is a post-Spanish American War US M1892 Krag Rifle Bayonet & 2nd Pattern Scabbard.  The bayonet has no nicks or chips in the blade but does have normal wear.   Evidence of sharpening.  See photos. Minor scratches on the blade. The wooden handles are in good condition.  The locking mechanism works fine.  The blade is marked US on one side and dated 1908 on the other.  This bayonet has the 2nd pattern scabbard.  Some minor finish wear, one dent, minimal rust around top of scabbard. The bayonet is used, please see photo's for condition.
1908 was long after War was over, but research tells me the military used up old stock while shifting to new models. The 12 inch blade was deemed too short for WWI warfare when they went to M1905 16" blade.
