SPANISH AMERICAN WAR ARMY OFFICERS CAP - HAT BEAUTIFULLY EMBROIDERED

This gorgeous Spanish American War officers cap is truly a rare and magnificent find. Constructed of fine navy-blue melton wool, this 1895 officers hat is 3.5" high and features a stunning hand-embroidered eagle insignia on front with beautiful silver leaf bullion threading and magnificent gold braiding which for the late 1800's was the only ornamentation allowed. This model was one of two hats authorized for all officers, worn in garrison or in the field. Made by acclaimed hat maker Bent & Bush of Boston. Both the visor and leather sweatband are in perfect condition and tightly sewn in place making this a very desirable hat and deserving of the high price-tag. Hat size is unknown but looks to be approximately 7" diameter. These caps are extremely popular on the market right now and only going up in value.
