    Description

Here is a Spanish American War Veterans Society or Indian War Veterans Mourning medal. This planchet is from the early 1900s. It has a black ribbon with a Wichita marked top bar. The medal and top bar are in fine condition with all enamel and details there. In looking at this medal this could been for Indian War veterans also seeing that the Wichita bar is there- at one time there was a tribe of Indians called the Wichitas that of course were sent eventually to the reservation. Any questions please ask and thanks for looking.
A ebayer says this may be a Masonic medal but I do not think so I have only written two books on Mexican War Veteran Medals, compiled a listing of both the recipients of the Gillmore Medal and the Kearny Medal officers, Compiled a list of Spanish-American War Service Town, City County and Local medals that had more than 150 medals on it. I have also updated the World War ll service town local and county medal list to include more than 100 of them. I have also compiled a list of the very rare Korean War service town, city and Local medals these are rare so only about 15 found.
