    Description

Here we have a very nice Spanish-American War veteran’s cross that is in complete and original condition. The bronze cross is nicely struck, exhibiting well defined detail, and suspended from its original American flag ribbon. The ribbon is strong, solid and without fraying. The ornate top eagle suspender bar is complete with pin and open catch assemblies, and numbered, “B9574” on the reverse. Below the number is the manufacturer’s name, “JOS MAYER – MAKER – SEATTLE, USA”. This is a very attractive example as would have been awarded to Teddy Roosevelt’s Rough Riders for their part in the taking of San Juan Hill and other actions on the island of Cuba in 1898.
