You are purchasing high quality 1/8" (10 Gauge) thick Stainless Steel parts made to CNC quality.  Steel plates are much stronger than aluminum and resist warping that is common to aluminum plates.  These plates have an attractive finish to keep your engine looking good!
This kit is used to eliminate the air pump and corresponding valves found on newer Subarus to reduce engine clutter and weight...this saves a ton of space!  These plates block off the air injection ports at the cylinder heads on the right and left side.  Addition of these plates will require the CEL codes to be turned off in the ECU with your tuner.
